Kern County Bail Bonds FAQ

The questions families ask us most, answered plainly. If you do not see yours here, just call. We are happy to explain anything, any hour, with no obligation.

Posting bail is unfamiliar territory for almost everyone, and good questions deserve straight answers. Below are the ones we hear most. For anything specific to your situation, the fastest path to a real answer is a free call to (661) 452-8889.

Note that we are a bail agency, not a law firm, so nothing here is legal advice. For legal questions about a case, an attorney is the right resource. For getting someone out of jail, that is exactly what we do.

Common questions

Questions families ask us

How much does a bail bond cost in Kern County?
The premium is 10% of the bail amount, set by California regulation. A $15,000 bail means a $1,500 premium. We offer payment plans, so that amount does not have to be paid all at once.
How quickly can you get someone out of jail?
We can start paperwork within minutes of your call. The actual release time is controlled by the jail and depends on how busy booking is. Posting bail before a transfer from Central Receiving to Lerdo is the fastest path home.
Do I pay the full bail amount?
No. You pay only the 10% premium, and we secure the rest. That is the entire purpose of a bail bond, to make release possible without the full cash amount.
What is a co-signer responsible for?
The co-signer, or indemnitor, ensures the defendant attends every court date and is responsible for the bond if they do not. We explain every term clearly before anyone signs.
What happens if the defendant misses a court date?
A missed appearance typically triggers a bench warrant and can forfeit the bond. We send reminders for every court date to prevent this. If a date is missed, call us immediately so we can help.
Do you offer payment plans or no-collateral bonds?
Yes. We offer low down payments, financing, installment plans, and no-collateral options for qualifying clients. Call us and we will tell you honestly what you qualify for.
Which jails do you serve?
All of them in Kern County: the Central Receiving Facility, all four Lerdo facilities, and the Mojave and Ridgecrest substations. See our jails guide for details.
Is my call confidential?
We handle every call with discretion and respect. Our job is to help your family through a hard moment, not to judge anyone. Call any hour and we will treat you the way we would want our own family treated.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. We handle the entire bail process in English or Spanish, whichever you are most comfortable with.
Is bail available for every charge?
Most charges are bailable, but not all. Certain situations, such as some probation violations and specific holds, can mean no bail until a hearing. Call us and we will tell you honestly whether a bond is possible.
